MIDEL 7131 is an ester based transformer fluid that offers significant environmental advantages compared to silicone liquid, mineral oil or cast resin transformers, over the entire lifetime of the transformer or at disposal. Whenever a transformer solution is required for an environmentally sensitive location, Midel is your best choice.

Biodegradability
Midel easily meets the criteria for it to be classified as readily biodegradable. In the case of ground spillage, Midel is converted naturally into water and carbon dioxide. For details of OECD tests comparing the biodegradability of Midel, silicone liquid and mineral oil please see the datasheet below.

Non-water hazardous
The Federal Department of the Environment in Germany have studied the biodegradability of Midel and classified it as ‘non-water hazardous’. It therefore poses no threat to the natural habitat and wildlife.

Safer smoke emissions
Midel has a high fire point making it extremely difficult to ignite. However, when MIDEL 7131 is forced to burn under extreme conditions, it gives off low density smoke emissions which are comparable to wood smoke.
